El filme de Renée

Para comprender el éxito de Diario de una joven esquizofrénica - libro en que se inspira el filme del mismo título, sería demasiado fácil alegar el hecho de que se haya recurrido al cine para obtener un impacto comercial. Fáciles e injustos para la obra de la Sra. Sechehaye, ya que, en realidad, es a partir de 1951 que el libro empiezaa ser conocido más allá de las fronteras europeas, publicándose por vez primera en Nueva York.

Si pasar del filme al libro no es suficiente para explicar la resonancia de la obra sobre el público, sería más arriesgado aún atribuir el éxito cinematográfico de Nelo Risi al hecho de que la película se basa en un libro famoso. En efecto, queda claro que este filme fue un acierto. Y cuando se constatan los numerosos elogios que figuran en los artículos de la crítica de la época, se renuncia definitivamente a querer explicar las mtuas influencias entre ambas obras.
Este filme ganó un accésit en el festival de Venecia en 1968. Tuvo Mención especial a los VIII Encuentros internacionales de películas para la juventud en Cannes. Obtuvo en total nueve recompensas en los Festivales donde fue presentado. El resultado análogo al del libro puesto que existen numerosas traduccions para el público extranjero. Empesando por Francia pues, si Ghislaine de orsay en el papel de Anna era francesa, la producción era italiana. Pero también en Alemania, donde encontramos una versión en la Humbold-Universitât de Berlín.

If going from film to the book is not enough to elucidate the repercussion of the work on the public, still much more perilous would be the movement which would consist in rationalizing the cinematographic success of Nelo Risi by the fact that it was drawn from a work with success. It was really a schizophrenic succes. And when one raises the expansion of praises which nourished the critical articles of the time, one definitively gives up wanting to explain the influence of the one by that of the other.

Pero es de notar que no hemos realizado una investigación para catalogar todos los lugares donde se halla la obra (no hacemos referencia ni a los Estados Unidos ni al Japón) porque, desde luego, es una labor imposible tanto por lo que se refiere al libro como al filme, pero cabe pensar, y así lo esperamos, que gracias al laboratorio de este sitio y a la posibilidad de rellenar el formulario poco a poco y al paso del tiempo, lograremos elaborar una geografía a escala mundial del impacto del caso de Renée.
Hemos citado a Ghislaine d'Orsay. No podemos acabar sin mencionar a Margarita Lozano que desempeña el papel de Dra Blanche, (recordemos su brillante carrera cinematográphica en treinta y cinco películas entre las que figura Manon des sources). Es de señalar tambien la presencia del actor italiano Umberto Raho.
